Last weekend I was down in Richmond to select the Gubernatorial ticket we will put up in November. A lot of speeches were made by a lot of well known pols and talking heads. None of them were more stirring than the one given by a young man.

His story is fascinating. His parent's, as Palestinian refugees raised this young man in Kuwait. Upon reaching college age he found that Kuwait bars non native citizens from attending university. And, being as there is no country of Palestine he was stuck. His grandfather gave him his life savings and the young man emigrated to the US and went to school at Virginia Tech.

This young man became the Regimental Commander of the Corps of Cadets at VT.
You will be hard pressed to find anyone as patriotically American as Cadet Colonel Adnan Barqawi.

The only video that I know of that recorded this amazing speech is an amateur one during the convention.

Adnan Barqawi's speech to the Republican Party of Virginia State Convention:

Excellent speech.

According to our current administration, this would be considered hate speech.

That was a great speech. I had never heard of the restriction on education before....

It's a sad state when a foreign born American has more heart and love for this country than many who were born here and know no real strife.

It's a sad state when a foreign born American has more heart and love for this country than many who were born here and know no real strife.

Those who were born here and have known no strife take the peace and freedom for granted. Those who have known the evils of the "third world" first hand know how good it is.

I'm listening to this as I type, so I just noticed he does touch on this.
