Here's what I wrote...let's see if they print it:
A recent editorial from the Daily Journal said that the “Housing rescue plan is necessary and fair”. I’m sorry, when did “I” become everyone’s daddy?
“I” refers to all the suckers, myself included, that saved money, put it down on an affordable house, probably locked in at a reasonable rate and have done their best to live within their means in order pay that mortgage. By bailing out the ones who didn’t think, Government is teaching us there are no consequences, do anything you want, it’s okay.....What are we teaching a generation that doesn’t understand personal responsibility to begin with?
Barack, along with the help of many Congressmen, many of whom caused the problem in the first place, have decided to help 9 million families get out from under. Why? Are they ‘too big to fail?’ Failure is good sometime’s if you learn a lesson from it. Companies fail, reorganize or not and we move on...Now it seems as though you don’t have to trim down or be responsible ‘cause the government, using OUR money, will fix things. Health care expensive? Don’t worry, the Government will fix things. Why are we looking more and more like a Socialist country? Don’t worry, the Government and its new Czars, will fix things.
My sympathies to those that did things the right way only to still get stuck behind the eight ball. But to me it seems that Government thinks it better to help irresponsible people pay their mortgages and not understand those that just got a little behind due to the dead weight they’ve been carrying..
