This is the Letter I sent to mine.

"Whereas: The United States Supreme Court has affirmed the right to own and bear arms.

Whereas: The Constitution of Washington State affirms the individual right to own and bear arms.

I respectfully request that you vote against any legislation that would infringe or ban or attempt to do so in any way.

I also respectfully request that you oppose any legislation that would release any private information to entitys other then Law Enforcement in regards to the purchase or sale of firearms ond ammunition."

A interesting thing Happened, When I sent it to the Represenative in my district, a message popped up saying that he would be unable to respond because my Zip was not in his district. However when I went to the NRA-ILA site and put in my zip it showed that he was my rep. Also my voters resistration also shows that I am in his district.

Both of Wasshington Senators are Anti Gun. The Rep. from my district #2 is Rick Larson and is rated B+ by NRA. I wonder if he gets any E-mail.

Let your Senators and Represenatives know how you feel.

answer from one of washingtons senators.

"Thank you for writing to me regarding limitations on gun ownership. It is good to hear from you.

Like you, I am concerned about the level of violence in this country, and its effect on our families and communities. While legislation to regulate the use of firearms is primarily a state issue, I believe that our national crime-fighting strategy should include reasonable measures to control firearms that strike a balance between reducing street crime and maintaining individuals' rights.

As a U.S. Senator, I have supported common-sense measures to reduce or restrict gun violence while posing the least possible inconvenience to law-abiding gun owners. Please know that if the Senate considers firearms legislation, I will keep your concerns regarding this important issue in mind. If you would like to know more about my work in the Senate, please feel free to sign up for my updates at http://murray.senate.gov/updates. Thank you again for writing, and please keep in touch.

I hope all is well in Granite Falls."

Thing is, most politicians don't realize legislation does not apply to criminals, therefore is ineffective. It only infringes upon those who already follow the law. But then again, most politicians are lawyers, so more laws is the only thing that they can understand. "Supporting common sense measures" is a brady bunch code phrase. Tell them to enforce the laws we already have and leave the rest of us alone.

Like I said Pati Murray is anti gun, she has voted for most of the antigun legislation, so her letter didn't surprise me. She of course will not get my vote, actually never has. Stoll I at least wrote them, if all people would it might have some affect, thought I doubt it.
