That is a neat idea. Very expensive... I think I'll stick with the blue HDPE drums...

Me too, Omega. I've got 3 of them. My goal is to add 2 more. I'll store all 5 in the back of the garage, put plywood over the top and use it as shelving for food storage. My spare bedroom is completely full of canned food right now. I need to reorganize my basement and add some more shelving.

That is a pretty cool item. I bet I could use those to heat water here in Arizona both summer and winter....

Only down side, acid rain.
NP in MI with water, more of a concern that something might freeze. Still I am careful with water, and unlike most, I never water my grass. I always enjoy asking my eco-friends about that.
I have a sump pump that runs often enough. Last few days, once every 30 minutes. I set up a system where the water hits a good portion of my back yard. this, and I think along with trees for shade, as keep my lawn nice.
One year, during a power outage, I use a hand pump and hoses to pump water out of my sump, into a bathroom window, into a toilets tank. Works if the power is out short term (very long term, I'm thinking sewers might back up).
