Yep. It's good stuff. Freeze dried and dehydrated food has a shelf life of 5 to 30 years, depending on things like oil content.

It's a great way to wean yourself off of the "just-in-time" inventory at the local grocery store.

And, it's so much cheaper!!!

My strategy is to get one year's worth of food stored for my family. I'm almost there.

Once I get that accomplished, we will begin consuming our food supply, using the rotation method. FIFO. First in, first out.

You'll be amazed at how much money you will save by doing this. You're cutting out the broker, processing company, distribution company, packaging company, and the grocery store mark-up.

Another benefit is the nutrition. Most of the food in the grocery store is pre-processed, stripping the nutrition out, and adding in preservatives and chemicals.

Take bread for example. White bread is made of bleached flour. No nutrition.

Another benefit is the prevention of food being tampered with. A terrorist could contaminate our food supply, killing a lot of people.

But the MAIN reason is to be prepared for when the shit hits the fan.
