It just struck me.
I can extract water in the basement by running the dehumidifier and then run the water through my Big Berkey water filter!!!

Yup, you sure can. I used to work in a four story office building. In the parking garage, tucked under the building there was a storage room. The office decided to store paper records in that storage room but had to control the humidity which really built up in it. They installed a dehumidifier and it removed a lot of water from the room. Enough so that they had to install a drain pan and cut a hole through the concrete wall in order to get a 4" PVC pipe through to channel water to a drain. I expect, by the way it ran, that it produced maybe 20 gallons per day....

I just recently had a noise develop in my furnace. After some investigation I found that the condensate pump on my furnace was going out and ordered another one. When I installed it, and the furnace ran for awhile, it started pumping water, from what I have since found out, is a dehumidifier attached to the central unit. I now have a backup source for at least a small amount of water as long as we have power......

Yep. It'll work...as long as you have electricity.

If we ever get a generator hooked up to the BAPT (big ass propane tank) that will, hopefully, not be a problem....
