to be watching for a large shipment to come this week. She ordered 300 pounds of grain and a mill. I expect that this is just the start..... :yup:

Which mill did she get?
I'm thinking about a Country Living Mill in case there is no electricity. It's pricey, but it's heavy duty.
Just to let you guys know, when I was at the Bishop's Store House on Friday night, they told me they are going to open up to the public. In other words, you won't have to be accompanied by an LDS member.
This got me to thinking..... I wonder why they would do this? Are their church leaders concerned about the economy failing?
Do they want to help as many Americans as they can to stock up on food?
And then, my LDS friend told me that they did a survey at church yesterday to see how many of their members are following through with their instruction to stock up.
That got my attention.
I'm glad that people are pro-active in their preparations.

Yessir. I have a 4700+ sf house built by Mormons for Mormons. Seven bedrooms, full basement, Mormon pantry on an irrigated acre. If it was in the midwest, it would be perfect.... :yup:

That might be arranged. I may need additional security to secure the place in a SHTF situation.

I believe the non-electric Country Living Mill was the one she bought for exactly the reason you mentioned. The grain she bought is being shipped in 5 gallon buckets. I'll let her know about the Bishop's Store House opening. I'm sure she will want to check that out. They are probably doing it to generate some profits to help support their members.

When I got home from work tonight, we had a load of wheat in our entryway and my wife had opened one of the buckets and ground enough flour for bread tomorrow. We'll see how it tastes....

The bread wasn't average to poor. My wife is a good baker anyway but these were really good. She made large dinner rolls which had course wheat flour on the top. Slathered in butter I ate four before they cooled down and I am about to have a couple more.... :yup:

That's awesome, Bumper.
I've got a jar of homemade black raspberry jelly that would go good on those hot rolls!

LOL, there's none left. She didn't like them as much as her regular recipe so she is going to try several other recipes. I told her I would be the guinea pig for all she tried.
I bet the blackberry jelly would be good on them. I tried them with just butter and with homemade apricot and pomegranate preserves/jelly..... :yup:
