I'm Holdcard. Lets see, married 27 years (we still even like each other), 1 child, 2 grandchildren (grand parenting really is more fun).
Been involved with disability ministry for over 18 years now. We've taught Sunday school for people with mental disabilities, we were involved in a week long camp program for people with disabilities. I've worked in group homes, supported employment, vocational rehab and RIS (adult babysitting).
We have a person with severe disabilities living with us, we met him and his mother when we taught Sunday school, she died suddenly 8 years ago and he's been with us ever since. Definitely a life changing experience for us. He has spastic cerebral palsy and moderate mental retardation. Most of the time he's a joy to be around, but he does have his moments.
Over the years we've gotten into photography. Nothing professional but definately turned into an expensive hobby. We've actually outgrown most of the photo shops in our area. I'm using a Nikon D300 and my wife is using a D70. It's an enjoyable hobby, and especially nice that we can share it.
Been around firearms all my life, have a meager collection and we also share the love of shooting (me more than her). We both have our concealed carry permits. Over the years we have taken many with disabilities shooting for the first time. Someday I'd like to take the NRA courses and become an instructor with the emphasis being on adaptive shooting. I almost need a sponsor for that, the classes are expensive and the adaptive equipment is outrageously expensive.
Well, that's all I can think of for now. Wanna know anything else just ask or see the website in my signature line.
